cst

Being born is hard.

It can be beautifully traumatic for the baby, Mum and Dad.

It is designed to be.

You have all that you need to ‘move through’ these important traumas as part of the natural bonding process for your whole family.

Often things don’t go to plan with the birth, or your baby doesn’t seem to be doing what we are told they ‘should’ be doing… sleeping, feeding and pooping easily.

When you can access the natural healing process and let go of the planned, and unplanned, traumatic, stressful aspects of birth; magic happens. You feel more at ease in your body, healing happens faster, and the postpartum period gets easier.

You are able to be with, and bond with, your baby better. Your baby feels more relaxed, attuned to you and the environment; and will be feeding, sleeping and pooping easier too.

I help create the conditions for this to happen using my experience of the past two decades as a health coach, trauma-informed life coach, manual therapist, Biodynamic Craniosacral Therapist, and my 2 decades of expertise as a former nanny.

What happens during CST?

Craniosacral Therapy is a gentle hands-on therapy that helps you access your body’s natural healing process. For babies, this means alleviating any compression of the head, neck, back, or hips experienced during birth or the late stage of pregnancy. These compressions are further increased with fast or long labor, forceps, or vacuum-assisted births, induced or cesarean births.

It is important to restore natural head pressure for the nervous system and cranial nerves to work well!

Craniosacral Therapy helps decompress the baby’s head, neck, and spine which can solve issues such as colic symptoms, restlessness, unusual crying, sleep issues, digestive problems, inability to poop regularly, reoccurring ear infections, and difficulty feeding and turning the head.

This wonderful therapy eases the tightness in the baby’s mouth, head, and neck that helps with breastfeeding and makes sure that the primary three systems, eating, pooping, and sleeping, are working properly.

If it seems appropriate, the parent and the baby get treated during the same appointment as Craniosacral Therapy is an excellent tool for the whole family, helping with the stress of babyhood and parenthood.

What happens during CST?

Firstly, we get to know each other. I will ask about conception, pregnancy, birth, and the immediate postpartum period. As we talk, your baby is part of the conversation, resting in your lap, and the session progresses, maybe even having a cuddle with me. They don’t need to be still, I just let them be them.

The work is very gentle, no compression or manipulation is being used, only gentle touch. When babies release emotions they cry during the session, but the technique doesn’t hurt the baby, the release is a good thing, and I show you, the parent, how to be with this.

Babies often sleep for a longer period after treatment, due to the releases and the relaxing effect of the therapy. In the UK midwives and doulas have been aware of the positive impact of CST and highly recommend the therapy for mothers and babies and I am widening the awareness of this wonderful therapy through my educational program for the Midwives and Doulas in the State of New York.

I love supporting families during and after pregnancy.

My work helps with the constant changes in your body as your bump develops and prepares the pelvis for the birthing process. Through our sessions, I help ease tissue tension and tightness, and help relax the nervous system, so the body can work from a balanced place.

With regular sessions, my clients have easier deliveries and faster recoveries.

Working with me can be immensely helpful for getting your body ready for pregnancy, especially If you are struggling to conceive. There can be many things that can interfere with the body’s ability to allow pregnancy to unfold, such as old ‘stuck’ trauma, tension, energetic blockages, nutritional imbalances, or maybe alignment problems. Any of these issues will also have a negative effect on the nervous system. A stressed body has a hard time with allowing a fetus to grow there. Click here if you’d like to learn more.

Regina

Hi, I’m Regina. I have been practicing as a Biodynamic Craniosacral Therapist for the past six years. After completing my two-year-long study in the UK, I continued to study Advanced Craniosacral Training which specializes in mothers and babies. I have been in the health and wellbeing industry since 2006 as a Health Coachand, before that, I was a nanny, primarily looking after babies.

It is a real privilege to witness how Craniosacral Therapy (CST) helps babies, before and after birth.
The benefits of this work can be seen in the first session. I am always amazed at how further sessions increase these positive life changes and balance the fast-paced world we live in, ironing out the daily wrinkles life can create in our fabric.

For you, imagine relaxing on the sofa after putting on your favorite sweater right out of the tumble dryer, just feeling comfort in your own skin, and you will be moving in the right direction to how the aftermath of your own Craniosacral session may feel.

And a balanced mommy means a balanced baby!

As for your baby, the benefits of ongoing CST will support natural emotional, physical and spiritual development. This helps them express and regulate their emotions, gain confidence and wire them to be more resilient, kickstarting a truly rewarding life.

I look forward to working with you and your baby. To book an appointment please fill out the form below.

“My newborn son and I were treated by Regina after an unplanned caesarean section birth that came with an intense emotional experience. I struggled with the birth in my body and mind. My son seemed to also have a lot of built up energy in his body after and was very tense and would push through his legs a lot. After our work with Regina in just a few appointments, we both had major releases. He instantly responded to her work and it was apparent his whole body calmed. His fidgeting and tenseness relaxed and he slept longer than he had before, after every session with her. I felt better after each session in both body and mind. Post-partum was hard for me, but Regina helped me clear out my anxiety about the caesarean, which I think I was still a bit in shock from. She helped me heal from it mentally as well as physically quite fast. I had sharp shooting pains on a certain side, and those were relieved immediately in the room but also resolved overall. My recovery was hugely helped by her magical hands but also by her wonderful knowledge of birth as a whole and her keen understanding of babies and their needs. I highly recommend Regina and her work. It is both practical and tangible but also spiritual and deep. You will benefit from it all.”
Lenne

“Can’t recommend Regina highly enough. Regina did a great job providing CST to my newborn to alliviate breastfeeding pain associated with being born breach and having a tongue tie removed. He also had a lazy eye and had a hard time turning his head to the right. After his first cranio session both were gone. She also worked on my C-section scar that made me feel like I had a top and bottom half. After the first session the separation was gone and I felt normal again.
Regina was always extremely kind and during our sessions she shared her joy and passion for work as a CS therapist with babies and moms. I would highly recommend her services.”
Monica

“My son was born via c-section and my postpartum doula noticed he was carrying related tension. She recommended he work with Regina to relieve some of the stress. I opted to also get treatment for my c-section scar during the appointments.
Regina is skilled, informative, and empathetic. She walked me through her work, answered all of my questions, and made both my son and me feel comfortable. After treatment my son seemed very relaxed—taking a long nap—and my scar felt much better. We went on to do three sessions with her. It was also so helpful and convenient to have her come to our home. I would highly recommend working with Regina post c-section.”
Natalie

“My daughter was born with one leg & foot that turned inwards quite markedly but was told that it should straighten itself out over time. Whilst it did improve it was not straight and was causing her to trip over especially when running. She had also always been a terrible sleeper and was still not sleeping through the night – this, I thought was coincidental. Regina has been amazing at building trust with my young daughter (she was 2 when we started working with Regina) and is very flexible in her approach ensuring that she enjoys her sessions, chatting away, and not having to sit in a set position for the session, whilst still giving her the treatment she needed. Regina’s magic hands have dramatically improved my daughter’s leg positioning when walking and running (no more falling over herself) and she is now also sleeping through the night! She started sleeping through the very same night she had her first session with Regina, who discovered that her lower leg was effectively ‘locked’ with the young muscles preventing the bones and leg from moving as they should. This restriction must have been creating discomfort for my daughter, who now is able to lie in bed and sleep soundly. Thank you, Regina!”
Emma

“I came to see if Regina could help me with my lower back and pelvis pain, which I’ve been suffering from during my pregnancy. After the treatment, my baby felt much more centered, intense and all pain was absent.”
– Eleanor (31 weeks pregnant)

“I was planning on a natural birth but had to have an emergency C-section. My baby suffered from colic symptoms, was restless, and cried a lot. I brought her to Regina when she was 2.5 weeks old. Regina was having her lying down on her thighs and suddenly I see my daughter pushing herself away and arching her back with a sharp cry. Regina explained that it was the pushing away movement she couldn’t do due to the c-section and was stuck in her little body. She fell asleep almost immediately and she had no more issues after that one session! I couldn’t believe the change”.
– Holly

“I had a very long labour with my son, who had trouble breastfeeding and would only poop every 3-4 days. Somebody recommended Regina, so we went to see her when my son was almost 4 months old. During the treatment he started shaking, which freaked me out, but Regina assured me that it was normal. He pooped right after the session and from that day on he was regular. His feeding improved greatly too. I can’t recommend Regina highly enough!”
– Susan

“I recently had my first ever CST session with Regina, as did several doulas from the collective I lead. We’re all huge Regina fans now and are spreading the word to everyone who will listen! In the minutes when I lay on her table and had my session, I thought it was very relaxing and I love the gentle, attuned way she calmly held my feet and then head. That in and of itself felt SO nourishing, just to be held. Simultaneously, I thought to myself, “I don’t necessarily notice anything happening physically, but I’m remaining very open to anything that might happen.” I was deeply impressed by the insights she shared after the session and felt great afterwards. She has remarkable intuition and expertise in this modality. I also love that her biodynamic CST approach is both respectful and trauma-informed. Regina is truly phenomenal, so now I’m referring her to all my pregnant and postpartum clients as well as friends and family!”
– Lisa Greaves Taylor, founder of Birth Matters NYC & director of East River Doula Collective

“Regina is so knowledgeable about the human body and her craft. She has such a gentle touch, and a curious and generous spirit. I benefited so much from our session together from both the hands on portion and the counseling and follow up-she shares her gift so beautifully! Regina has an obvious passion and sensitivity for babies and their parents and all of the things that babies and parents go through in labor and birth! She’s so knowledgeable on birth and postpartum and so suited to help people through this transition. I wish I knew Regina when I became a Mom 12 & 14 years ago. I’m sure my son’s colic would have been helped tremendously by her! Now, as a doula, I am glad to be able to refer my clients to Regina.”
– Christine Gibson, doula

“Regina is an incredibly intuitive and gifted practitioner. She made me feel thoroughly comfortable and welcome in her space before, during and after our session. As a care worker, I really valued how much she listened and made me feel taken care of throughout the experience. I was overdue for a much-needed reset of my nervous system, and I felt as though we achieved that beautifully together in our two sessions. I would recommend Regina to anyone seeking relief from stress or trauma, whether it was recently or from a long time ago.”
– Beth Scheppke, doula
